Sem 2 Devlog 1

My team is called team meltdown, and our game is called AtomicWare. AtomicWare is a game that is designed to spread awareness of a real-world event called the Fukushima incident that happened in Japan years ago. The game is broken down into  10 microgames and 5 mini games that have the player perform different tasks in the plant to avoid a nuclear meltdown.  The player has 3 lives to complete as many microgames as possible. If they use up all of their lives, the player will go into what is called the meltdown phase where they have to complete minigames that avoid a nuclear meltdown and have a chance of granting the player an extra life.

For the pre-production phase, the team spent a lot of time on trying to figure out what all of the micro/minigames were going to be and how they would play into our games theme. We had to make sure that the games we created were also appropriate because we didn't want to make a mockery of the actual event. My role for this project is the 2D asset creator. I am responsible for creating the games backgrounds and the objects that fill it. For the pre-production stage, I created a bunch of different object assets for the initial prototype ranging from tables to microscopes.
